Personalized instruction. By appointment only, personalized instruction is available most weekdays and on some weekends, depending on track availability. Instruction is done by Roger Heemsbergen, track owner and former Arroyo Seco lap record holder. Cost is $275 for 1 rider and $500 for two riders. ASR Advanced Riding School. (2 Day Schools) Our Advanced Riding School is the most comprehensive class offered at anywhere in the SouthWest. This course covers so many aspects and is constantly evolving in hopes to be the best available anywhere, at any price. With a curriculum developed over many years and a 2 to 1 student to instructor ratio featuring some of the Southwests top racers and most experienced instructors, we feel there is no better place to learn techniques to become a better street rider or road racer. Students who took the class won 13 championshps in 2007 alone, while our instructors took # 1 and # 2 plates in the ASMA series. What is covered: 1. Body Position 2. Choosing lines to maximize speed, consistency and safety. 3. Best use of controls 4. We offer a heavy dose of bike setup theory and help students find what works for themselves. 5. New for 2008, we will be using video during our school. 6. New for 2008, we will begin using helmet to helmet radio's to help maximize our on track sessions. Without having to stop to speak with students we feel we can provide much more instruction. We start by making sure each student has a baseline suspension setup and we then walk the track and discuss lines before moving onto a warm up session on the racetrack. Then we alternate between classroom and track sessions, with emphasis on putting into practice what we learn in the classroom. On day 2, we spend most of the day on track, working on an individual basis on each students weaker points. We provide breakfast and lunch on both days. |
